We manufacture and supply a diverse range of pure and blended gases for applications such as the reduction of unwanted emissions, facilitating the detection and measurement of pollution in soil, water and air to help improve the environment. Specialty gases are critical in modern technologies: in the manufacturing of mobile phones, microprocessors, memory chips and optical fibres. You want to be certain the gas will maintain its integrity throughout its application or process.
Calibration Gas Mixtures
The number of permutations and combinations of the various gases are restricted only by the physical and chemical properties of the components and by the health and safety issues relevant to the production, as well as the stability and quality of the final mixture.
Pre-Analysis
Raw materials are pre-analysed to ensure the final purity, accuracy and stability of the gas mixture. Balance gases for mixtures are 99.999% (n5.0) or higher where appropriate. Our bulk liquid feed stocks are up to 99.9999% (n6.0) pure.
Cylinder Preparation
Cylinder selection takes into consideration the chemical and physical properties of the gas mixture. For reactive mixtures, we use cylinders that are internally coated and fitted with stainless steel valves to guarantee stability. To minimise the risk of cross-contamination, cylinders are only recycled for use with gas mixtures within the same group classification.
For semiconductor applications, cylinders are restricted to specific product service to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and purity.
Cylinder preparation is critical in ensuring that no residual gas, particles or moisture are present to contaminate the mixture and the associated process application. Cylinders are first heated to drive off any residual moisture, followed by thorough purging and evacuation to create a clean baseline.
Production and Analysis
Reference and certified standards are manufactured using gravimetric techniques with high accuracy balances traceable to NPL standard masses. The widely acknowledged superiority of the gravimetric method of production over manometric techniques ensures that mixtures are manufactured consistently to the highest possible accuracy.
Mixture purity and composition is verified by analysis and certification following a thorough homogenization process. More complex and reactive mixtures are analysed several times over a period of days or even weeks to guarantee their final stability and quality.
Traceability
Our analytical operations are traceable through a calibration standard produced to either a recognized international standard such as NIST or NPL or a gravimetrically manufactured Primary Reference Standard traceable to NPL standard masses.
Pure and Ultra Pure Gases
We supply an extensive range of pure gases along with the correct specification of specialty gas control equipment to ensure the purity is maintained through to the point of use.
